“Szelment” Sports and Recreation Centre is located in a picturesque corner of the northeastern Poland.This modern winter and summer sports centre is situated at the feet of the mountain which rises above the gorgeous post-glacial valley. Inside, lies Szelment Wielki Lake - the biggest in the northern part of the Suwalszczyzna Region mezotrophic gully lake, with clean water, a sandy beach at the shore and not a very diversified littoral zone. Szelment is oriented mainly on active tourism. Its offer includes a bike rental, team games such as paintball, volley ball or mini golf. New facilities are being constructed now: a ropes course, an 8 metre high climbing wall, the beach, piers and a water ski lift. Once the investment is finished, it will be one of the biggest recreation centres in northeastern Poland. Szelment Wielki Lake is a good venue for water sports: kayaking, sailing or windsurfing. Thanks to its location, the Sports and Recreation Centre is a perfect starting point to visit the whole beautiful Suwalszczyzna Region. In winter, there are ten 300-500 metre long illuminated downhill ski slides, including a 250 metre long snow park, a 500 metre long gorge and a “nursery slope” for children with an 80 metre ski lift. All the slopes are illuminated, have artificial snow and snow grooming. “Szelment” Sports and Recreation Centre has its own ski rental and a well-equipped skiservice. There is also a professional ski school.
