The Agritourist Association “Masurian Land” was registered in 1998. The headquarters of the organization is located in the Rural Initiatives Centre in Giże. The area of operation includes EGO sub-region - Olecko, Ełk and Gołdap districts. The members of the organization are mainly owners of agritourist and tourist facilities. Since 2008, the Association has held the status of a public benefit organization. The mission of the Agritourist Association is to activate and integrate the local community and promote social and economic initiatives with the help of its extensive knowledge and experience. In the first period of the association’s activity the main objective was to develop and promote agritourism and to create an offer which would strengthen tourist attractions of the area. Currently, the organization is focused largely on social activities. As a result of these actions, Rural Initiatives Centre was created in Giże in a former elementary school building, where numerous project activities were carried out.
